his Treatment for Colic

  Over the years, there has been a substantial amount of research into the condition of colic. There are studies to see if colic leaves any permanent damage to the child emotionally as they mature. There have been other studies to see if the cause of colic is related to an immature digestive tract. There are more studies that have been done to see if mothers with migraine headaches are more prone to having babies with colic. There have even been studies done to see if nervous system problems caused by spinal misalignment could cause the condition of colic. What my research has indicated is that there is still is no one who knows the cause of colic and that there has been no specific known treatment to cure colic. Research still states colic has no known cause and there is no known treatment to it. It is quite apparent that much more research is needed.   
           
       I have been researching the subject of colic for years and have also been treating colicky babies for over thirty-five years. What I have discovered is that the diagnosis of colic is very limited and that there is much more to colic than what is being presented. I have found that much of what was originally thought to be colic is now being diagnosed as acid reflux or silent reflux. Since medication is not recommended for colic and symptoms of colic, such as projectile vomiting, can be easily diagnosed as acid reflux, babies are now being prescribed acid reflux medication such as Zantac, Prilosec, Tegment, etc. to support acid reflux symptoms.
